19in, 5lb Lunker Bass - New Personal Best!

Been favoring Ames-Long Pond lately, so I've been going out on the kayak. At about 6:30 in the evening, I caught my personal best 19in, 5lb bass on a top-water frog, just skimming it across the lily pad fields that are starting to form.

  • I weighted so many LMB and SMB. 19inch LMB is not a 5 pounder. You are lucky if it is over 4. In the summer time like now, a 21-22 inch bass is not even a 5 pounder.

Sorry, can't help to say it.

  • Great fish! Wowza!

  • I was in the main part.
Actually I haven't tried fishing the northern section yet. One of these days. . .

  • Of course I did - not - kill the fish!

  • nice fish, were you on the main pond or the northern part?

  • nice fish but my first thought from looking at the picture is did you kill the fish?
